Qualifications and Experience Matter

My love of audio recording and 35mm film cameras goes back to the early ’70s. This experience, combined with any training that might apply, gives me an advantage in producing a very nice finished audio and or video product.

I dabbled in photography on and off through the 70’s to 90’s but didn’t really get into it until the digital age. I tried actually developing film back in the late 70’s but didn’t have the patience for it and I just couldn’t get past having to wait two weeks, at a minimum, to have pictures developed. Same applied for 8mm cameras that I borrowed once in a while. The one hour developers made it a little more interesting for photography but still not enough. My first digital had 2 mega pixels and I thought that was amazing.

With digital, I could take the camera back home and see the pictures on the computer ‘right away’. They didn’t have screens on the cameras back then unless you spent big money. These days the equipment and processing software is amazing. There is a large learning curve for many applications but the end product is incredible.

I’ve also always loved audio recording and that too goes back to the early ’70s. Cutting tape to edit and working with a half track reel to reels, bouncing tracks as I went. With todays software and non-destructive editing, I’m in heaven. It gives the opportunity to try various editing approaches while still maintaining the integrity and the original version of each track.

The Small Business Dilemma Part 1

If a picture is worth a thousand words then a podcast must be worth ten thousand and a video must be worth a hundred thousand. Think about that thought within the context of today’s busy world.

It seems that, within a healthy live/work/fight a pandemic life style, people just don’t have time to read much anymore. That means those door to door leaflets and small local paper ads you’ve depended on to notify existing and bring in new clients/customers are not producing like they used to. Life moves on.

If you want your company to be noticed you have to utilize at least one of the many audio and or video platforms to reach your potential clients. With so many platforms available, it may seem hard to choose. A podcast or standard You-tube video attached to your Business Face Book or independent Web page may be the answer. They have the added benefit of being searchable online. Life moves on.

Audio podcasts are still a very effective platform to engage people as they go about their busy schedules. They generally run from 10-22mins to optimize the average commute but that’s changed too. You can, and possibly should shorten the length now that people are not commuting as much. They tend not to spend as much time on any media platform as they used to. They are, however, still able to listen to what interests them-when THEY want to listen- as they go about their daily tasks. They are entertained, informed, educated and exposed to new ideas and products while they exercise, commute, cook, clean or even work in the home office with the paramount concept of not being tethered to a screen. Life moves on but you can still reach potential clients.

Video, for when people do have some down time, is the new mainstream form of entertainment. Whether it be casting from a smart device, viewing on a handheld or watching a reduced screen on their work computer, people are viewing at the time and with the content of their choice. Life moves on but you can still engage potential clients.

Quality & Pride of Workmanship

If you’re looking for quality and pride in workmanship, this is the place. I’ve recently retired after 35yrs in the construction industry and am now pursuing a passion for both sound and image creativity. This is something I’ve had since my early teens in the 70’s. I’ve developed both my knowledge and experience over this time and now is the time to put it all into practice.

My experience goes all the way back to developing film and splicing tape to edit. Digital has opened up a whole new world for me over the years and now I have the time to do what I’ve always loved.

I hope that one, or some, of the products here will help you grow your company and look forward to being of assistance.

Life moves on.

Regards,

Rick
